PLEASE NOTE: No parking will be permitted on the kerbside in Mitchell Crescent and Mitchell Road (now Gladys Manzi) on the East side of the Car Park entrance for approximately 600 metres between the hours of 06:00 and 13:00 on the day. This will enable a queue to form on the side of the road going back towards the old W. Daly’s building (building with palm trees) for entry to the Car Park in addition to permitting through traffic to pass.

DON’T LOSE YOUR COOL – BUT DON’T BRING IT EITHER!!
No cooler boxes, cooler bags or picnic baskets will be allowed in any of the general public areas at the Canon Gold Cup meeting at Greyville on Saturday 30 July 2011. The only area where they will be allowed will be in the official picnic site area.

Bags or boxes found in any other area except the picnic sites will be confiscated.

So remember, if you bring it you will lose it!

A few things to comply with at this Marathon Event so that you can enjoy yourself and others can too.

In order to protect the rights of our sponsors please note that only official sponsors’ promotional material can be worn or displayed in any way. This includes handouts of any kind. This will be strictly enforced.

If you have parked illegally your car may be towed away.

Racegoers will only be allowed access into Greyville Racecourse or into one of the entry controlled facilities if in possession of the correct entry ticket, Members’ badge and/or appropriate wristband. These must be produced at various facility access points and on request by any gate/entrance control personnel.

Parents are responsible for and are requested to control the activities of their children at all times.

No persons under the age of 18 are permitted to gamble.

The following items are prohibited: - firearms and ammunition, dangerous knives and weapons including imitation weapons, explosives, teargas, mace or similar airborne chemical agents; air horns, vuvuzelas, bugles and the like; fireworks; banners or flags with either vulgar, racist, sexist, discriminatory and/or offensive content; narcotics.

No chairs will be allowed through the gates. (except wheel chairs)

Firearms will NOT be taken in for safekeeping at the venue. Please leave them at home.

Animals of any kind are not permitted. (except guide dogs)

No charcoal braai or open fires are permitted anywhere on course at Greyville Racecourse.

The grass racetrack is strictly out of bounds at all times except between races at which times the ramp provided must be used.

In terms of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (No 38 of 2001), any person depositing, betting or collecting R25 000 or more must provide their full name, proof of identity and contact details.

Right of admission is reserved.

The attendee assumes all risk and danger incidental to the attendance of this event. The attendee releases the Canon Gold Cup sponsors, Gold Circle (Pty) Ltd and all directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives and/or volunteers thereof, from any and all liabilities, damages, costs and expenses arising out of/or relating to attendance at this event.

Gold Circle shall be entitled to evict any person not complying with these rules or behaving in any manner considered socially unacceptable and no refunds or compensation for damages will be given to any such person.

We appeal to you not to consume too much alcohol. A dedicated driver is strongly recommended. Please note that the S.A.P.S will be forced to adopt a Zero Tolerance attitude toward misbehaviour due to excessive drinking.

Underage drinking is strictly not permitted.

TRACK CROSSING
In addition to the underground tunnel just after the winning post a further track crossing will be provided at about the 100 metre mark.

Please do not attempt to cross the racetrack unless it is at one of the above track crossings.

SOUND ADVICE
An appeal is made to Marquee operators to consider how their volume levels are affecting their neighbours and to keep these levels at a reasonable volume. Should you be experiencing a problem with your neighbour’s volume please contact the Venue Operation Centre on 031 314 1646.

ATM’s
Automatic Teller Machines are located on the ground floor under the Saddler’s Arms which is behind the main grandstand near the parade ring.

LOOK AFTER YOUR POSSESSIONS!
Racegoers are respectfully reminded to look after their possessions at all times on race day particularly after sunset. Do not flaunt cash in full view of the public. Do not leave handbags unattended on or under tables. Look after your cell phone. Be aware of suspicious persons loitering around you.

CANON GOLD CUP – CLOSING TIME

Resulting from recommendations of a variety of safety and security role players because of the difficulty of adequately policing such a large property, particularly at night, the event closing down process will begin at 22h00. This and will be under the management of Event Security and the South African Police.
